Story
Ironman triathlons are regarded by many as the world hardest
endurance race. This July I will be travelling to Zurich, Switzerland to
take part in the Swiss Ironman. The race is made up
of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and a 42.2km run that has to be
completed in under 16 hours without rest. My training started last
September and having endured many dark and cold winter mornings and
nights, summer and the race day (25th July) is fast approaching so I
thought it a good time to start getting some sponsorship.
Through family, I have a personal association the Parkinson's Disease Society so want to use this event to fund their ground breaking research and support of the illness.Their work
is invaluable in seeking a cure and making life easier for those suffering with the disease. Please use this page to show your support for my efforts by
donating what you can, and tell as many people about
this site as possible by emailing them my justgiving link. It really
will encourage me with the training,
especially in the early mornings, to see donations being added. If you
would like to know more about the charity please visit, www.parkinsons.org.uk.
Finally I would like to say a massive thanks to my main sponsor Fentimans Beverages (www.fentimans.com). Without their help I really wouldn't have the chance to participate in this fantastic race, I owe them a great debt of gratitude.
Many Thanks,
Mark
