Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for running the London Marathon in April 2005. As most of you know - I have done little excercise since school so this represents a considerable challenge for me and my knees.

I have decided to run to help fight MS - the effects of this unpredictable disease are often horrible and I want to do something to help.

The MS Trust is one of the two leading charities in the UK for people with MS and who provide information, professional education for MS nurses (akin to Macmillan nurses), and fund practical research. The Trust is a sister charity to the MS Society (but considerably smaller, with total funds standing at £677,283 in 2003, and 13 staff).

To give an idea of how monetary support can make a difference, £10 pays for ten copies of the Trust's explanatory book about MS and £100 pays for a day of an MS nurse's time to answer telephone questions from people affected by MS.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and secure. It is also an efficient way to sponsor me: The MS Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now online or contact me for other ways to donate - I don't intend on running this ever again! Thank you very much for your support. .
