Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have challenged myself to run the Great South Run at the end of the year. In preparation for this I will be running several 10K races across the south coast. The charity I am raising money for is Teenage Cancer Trust. The new unit appeal at Southampton General Hospital, the planned unit, built specifically for young cancer patients will be the first of its kind in the South of England. It will provide young people with some of the best cancer facilities in the country. Last year my daughter's friend Carl Buckley aged just 20, sadly lost his battle with cancer and I wanted to do something to help his chosen charity. My race entries have kindly been paid for by Leaders the leading south coast letting agents, who are sponsoring me throughout my challenge.* March 20th. It’s just a week away to my first race. Training is going well. Since starting back in Aug it seems a long way from that first night out running when I had to stop 4 times, and now im only a week away from trying to post a 40 min 10K. Thanks to my family for putting up with the smell of deep heat! Also a big thank you to Ron Meatcher for all his help and encouragement. Please come along for support.

So the big race came and I managed to gain a great time and position. It was the most comfortable race of the year for me and a fantastic experience. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and helped to raise a great amount for our local teenage cancer trust unit at southampton. A special thankyou to my family and to Bill Hughes who has been with me throughout my challenge and who has got me to every race on time. This page will stay open until the new year to continue to raise awareness and hopefully top up the total fund. I have thoroughly enjoyed every bit of my training and I have definately caught the running bug.
