Big Walk 2018 · 22 June 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Big Walk 2018 JustGiving page.
More information about The Big Walk 2018 can be found at https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/alumni/sheffieldscanner/big-walk
I'm taking part in The Big Walk 2018, a walking challenge on 22 June covering a 26.2 mile marathon distance walk starting in Lodge Moor on the edge of Sheffield, heading out through the Peak District and heading back into the city ending on the University's campus.
Last year's 50 mile Big Walk nearly finished me off but I really want to help us get to the £2million target to provide a new state of the art scanner for Sheffield.
Why are we doing this?
We are raising funds towards the University's £2million fund-raising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility and the first of its kind in Yorkshire. The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next leap forward in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stroke and neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
We're now well over £1.5million of our £2million target - Please support the Big Walk to help us reach our final goal!
Further information on the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www/sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner
So, please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BIG WALK 2018 AND THE SHEFFIELD SCANNER CAMPAIGN!
