Hi and thanks for popping onto my Justgiving Page.

Well who’d a thought it, after many years of applying they’ve finally called my bluff and let me in. Yup, I’m running the London Marathon on April 26th, which isn’t awfully far off now!

I’ve wanted to a do a whole marathon having completed a few ‘halfs’ over the past decade, and thought if you’re going to do one then it might as well be the ‘big one’. Sure the training is tough especially in the snow and ice but its doing me some good and its my choice.

Yes my choice… unlike many people who suffer from Duchenne muscular dystrophy who won’t have that privilege. People like my friends' son Jason, the handsome one on the left.

This awful disease firstly robs people of their mobility, most are wheelchair bound by the age of 10, then it takes their life before they’ve had much chance to live one. Makes you think eh?

My beneficial charity is Action Duchenne and I hope that the money raised by my little trot will go towards Research & Development into finding a cure for this cruel disease. Please give what you can, any amount is a real bonus.

If you’re at a loose end that day, come down and cheer us runners on. It’s a great laugh, honest I’ve done it myself, and hopefully will see you afterwards for a beer, or several… oh and maybe a small pie?

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action Duchenne gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thanks again, Mark / Fraz.
