The marathon is behind us now (thankfully) and I have to say that it was the hardest thing I have ever done - the crowds around the course and the heat both conspired to ruin my plans for a steady running pace. I completed the course in 4 hrs, 28 minutes and 28 seconds - Nick and I were hoping to beat 4 hours with a target of 3:45 in mind, so I was a long way off that. Nick did much better; finishing in 3:54. I was happy just to get round though, because at times it all seemed like much too hard work!

What's next? Let's see - I have a triathlon in mind...
