Story
Hello
Dad died a couple of weeks ago. Before he went, he asked me to to carry on helping the work he was doing with the Raven Trust in Malawi. I promised.
Now I need your help. I’m going to do a 10k run and I wondered if you’d sponsor me.
We need to raise £500 for an ongoing project run by the Raven Trust. They have been helping farmers in very remote areas of Malawi produce more food. For one village, they have found funding for bullocks and a plough. The next step is to fund a shelter and enclosure for the animals. The money will pay for all the materials and construction. As soon as they have a secure enclosure, they can start work with the animals. And ploughing will make a big difference to this small community.
As my 50th birthday is here, my challenge is to raise £50 for each kilometre I run.
And to add a little spice to the project, I want to celebrate reaching my fifth decade by reaching the finish line in under 50 minutes.
I've now had my place in the London 10,000 confirmed, so I'll be running on Monday 25th May.
Newsflash. We've hit the £500 target already! Thanks to everyone who has donated - you've been brilliant. But lets not stop here. The Raven Trust have other projects on the go and need every penny we can raise. So please, if you can, add a little more to the pot!
Another newsflash. We're now over £600! I am genuinely amazed by everyone's willingness to help. I promise to run very hard in return!
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Raven Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Newsflash!
The day of the run: Monday 25th May
A beautiful day, my sister Anne running too, 9000 other runners, TV cameras, support team of Mum, Mandy and Sam, the London 10,000 was a just a fantastic experience. The race went really well for us both. We had a great run and we're on tenterhooks to find out our official times. We want to thank everyone who sponsored and encouraged us on this great event.
