Meningitis Research Foundation
Meningitis Research Foundation funds research to prevent meningitis and septicaemia, and to improve survival rates and outcomes. The Foundation promotes education and awareness to reduce death and disability, and gives support to people affected.

Those of you who have read my book "Outsourcing to India: The Offshore Advantage" will be aware that it is dedicated to my grandmother Mary 'May' Jenkinson. She died just after Christmas in 2003; celebrating Christmas at home one day and dead the next - a victim of meningitis.
None of us would like to go before we can even say goodbye to our loved ones. Please help the Meningitis Research Foundation by sponsoring my run at the London Marathon on April 23, 2006.
I have already been training since before Christmas to achieve the distance in a reasonable time - under 3.5 hours I hope! Even a basic training run is 6 miles and my Saturday runs are up to 20 miles, so please help me and the charity, for the memory of May.
These are examples of how the charity can use the money I hope to raise:
£1 (€2) 100 symptoms cards
£5 (€10) 1 school or university information pack
£10 (€15) 1 hour of in-depth support
£25 (€40) 1 hour of a typical research project
£100 (€150) 20 information packs for GP surgeries and health professionals
£250 (€375) funding for our 24 hour helpline for half a day.
