The IIZUKA End-to-End Challenge · 7 September 2009

Brainwave is a charity that helps children with disabilities to achieve greater independence. Aiming to improve mobility, communication skills, and learning potential, through a range of specialist therapies.

Story

This September I plan to cycle the length and breadth of this green and pleasant land from Land's End to John O'Groats.  To maximise sponsorship, we have ensured that enjoyment will be negligible by aiming to complete this task in seven days, cycling a mere 120 miles per day.

I'll be raising money for the charity Brainwave, who help support brain injured children, as they have been incredibly supportive towards my nephew Toby.  Toby was severely brain damaged at birth having been in distress due to oxygen deprivation resulting in severe cerebral palsy, epilepsy, visual problems and learning difficulties.  Brainwave have provided intensive treatment and care specifically targeted for Toby which the NHS have been unable to provide.  Out of the vast number of charities and organisations that have been involved with Toby, my sister and her husband cite Brainwave as being the most helpful, so I hope you can give them the recognition that they deserve.
