Running in London Marathon for Mencap

Well I DID IT!!!!
The weather was hot and sunny ( my worst nightmare ) and marathon runners were downing the water, so much so that at some water stations they had totally run out of water, which I found tough as I was dehydrating very quickly
I also managed to pick up an injury to my upper leg at about 13miles of which I managed in just under 2 1/2 hours. The next 13.2 miles were just sheer pain, but I was determined to finish and the crowds really helped me along.
I had lots of cheering and Jo managed to see me a total of 5 times!!! We even had a quick kiss and cuddle at Canary Wharf at 19miles, which again gave me another booster to keep going for the last 7 miles I finished according to the flora marathon results in 5 hours 51minutes and it was a great feeling to get through that finishing line!!! Thank you for all the texts of well wishes you sent me, the phone was so well used we ended up with a flat battery by the end of the day. Thanks also for all the support everyone has given me and for all the sponsers who have donated. It was your kindness and generosity that kept me going. I can safely say that I won't be doing the marathon next year!!!, but it is an experience that was worth doing and knowing we raised money for a good cause was certainly worth doing it for. Hannah has made me understand that people with a learning disability need support in in helping them have the same opportunities to achieve their hopes and dreams.
