It's over!!!! I finished in 15 hours and 6 minutes. Swim went well at 1 hour 21 mins, the bike went to plan at just over 7 hours and 30 minutes (including about 10 loo brakes). The marathon was hard, a very hilly course, but got through it in just under 6 hours. Went to Bath Spa today (Mon) to recover, did the world of good. Pictures to follow shortly. Thank you for all you generous donations, I'll add the offline total when I've collected it, but I should be well past £500 by now. Cheers Mark / Mr P / Purvy --------------------------------------------------- On 7 Sep I'll be swimming 2.5 miles, then cycling 111 miles and topping it off with a marathon. I've been training for 6 months, I've lost my gut, feel healthier and am raring to go. Whilst on a particularly painful 5 hour training ride, I decided that I might as well put this saddle sore to good use and raise some money for charity. My sister-in-law Suzie is 28 and, due to her learning disability, is unable to do most of the things in day to day life that we all take for granted. To help her to lead an independent life, she lives in the caring environment provided by the wonderful people at one of the Elizabeth Fitzroy Support homes in Liss, Hampshire. So, if you've got a spare bob, I'm sure they'd really appreciate your support. My Ironman will take about 14 hours to complete, and I'm sure there'll be some dark moments. But I'm lucky enough to be able to take part, this is my motivation. Mark
