Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

On June 21st I am attempting a once in a lifetime challenge to swim across the English Channel.  I will start at Dover and hope to land somewhere between Calais and Boulogne in France.  I will swim approximately 26 miles in cold sea across the busiest shipping lane in the world.  This has been a life long ambition of mine ever since I met Mike Read (King of the Channel) when I was 10 years old.  I work as a Paramedic and have had to fit all my training around my busy shifts since last July.  I am proud to be raising money for such a worthwhile charity as East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: East Anglia's Children's Hospices will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to bad weather conditions my swim had to be postponed. I now hope to do it on 14th or 15th July.

Thanks for supporting me

SWIM COMPLETED!!

At about 8:40pm yesterday (14th July) I landed just east of Wissant in France, having swum from Samphire Hoe in England. It took me 12 hours 23 mins and 10 secs.

Please show your appreciation of the hard work I have put in over the last year to ensure I complete this challenge by giving whatever you can to this very worthwhile cause.

See my blog as above for details of my swim.

Thanks

Mark
