Story
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
Endometriosis is something that affects so many women and yet has a low awareness and limited support. This is something my wife suffers from severely having had three operations already and the knock on is that it can and does affect fertility. There is no cure and can only be managed. For women who are diagnosed, and it is often mis-diagnosed, it is a battle both mentally and physically. I cannot imagine how hard it would be for women who are single to cope with this.
In June 2013 I have decided to raise money for Endometriosis UK as I feel that women should have the support they need to cope with the ailment.
I have never undertaken such a challenge, the total distance for this trip will be around 3500 miles (5600km) starting in London, and going on to Paris, Luxembourg, Berlin, Munich, Innsbruck, Milan, Monte Carlo, Valencia and down to the south Coast of Spain ensuring I go over three large mountain ranges (The Alps, Pyrenes and Alpujarras).. This means I need to average around 75 miles a day to successfully complete it. I stress at this stage, I have never been a member of a cycling club or completed any distance cycling further than 60 miles previously let alone on consecutive days. I will be self-funding the trip so all money raised will go to Endometriosis UK.
I have never asked for donations before but I feel this is such a worthy cause as I know from personal experience what women have to go through! So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you!
