Well, I did it. The sun shone and I managed to get under 4hrs (3:53:20 to be precise). To top it all, I got home to learn I had topped the £1,000 in sponsorship pledged.
Thank-you very, very much to all those who sponsored me, both here and on traditional sponsorship forms. Your money will make a real difference to Macmillan.
But that's no reason to stop. If you meant to sponsor me but haven't - it's not too late. And there's still time to pass the word around to anyone who I might not have already pestered in person. Whatever help Macmillan can get will make a difference.
It certainly made a difference to our family. Unfortunately, we saw the work the charity does 18 months ago, when my wife Kate's Grandad died of cancer. Ted was diagnosed just a matter of months before he passed away but that short time was made a lot easier for him and the family through Macmillan's help and support.
Thank-you for helping them keep up that good work.
Once again, thanks to all who have supported me.
Chris
