Centrepoint Sleep Out 2009 · 12 November 2009 ·

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 12th of November 2009 I will be joining 450 people at Old Spitalfields Market to sleep out for the night! This event is to kick starts Centrepoint's Countdown to Christmas appeal; raising both awareness and money for LONDON'S HOMELESS YOUNG PEOPLE. The event is not trying to re-create homelessness but to raise awareness for the issue and for the services that Centrepoint provide.

Centrepoint houses and supports 830 homeless young people between the ages of 16 and 25 every night and addresses the cause as well as the problem of homelessness.

  • £15 helps provide a bed in an emergency hostel for a night.
  • £25 can buy hot meals for a homeless young person for one week.
  • £100 could buy pots and pans for a self-catering Centrepoint flat, preparing a young person for independent living.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I'd love it if you'd join me in giving to Centrepoint and helping some of the most vulnerable in our society.
