I have signed up to attach myself to a complete stranger and put my life in their more than capable hands as we hurl ourselves out of an aircraft at 13000 feet and from there reach a speed of 120mph, covering each thousand feet in approximately five seconds. At 5,000 feet the instructor should deploy the parachute which hopefully will control us to a gentle landing on terra firma some minutes later.

The 12 hour simulator race is a lot less scary and involves 15 teams competing around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal Canada; alas this doesn’t actually take part in Canada but instead will be in the small industrial unit in Oxford. http://www.theracehut.com/race-hut-oxford
