Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of Epilepsy Research UK on 10th September 2011 a couple of days after what would have been my daughter Sophie's 25th birthday. Sadly Sophie died one year ago in an epilepsy related accident.

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge is a 25 mile circular walk which takes in Yorkshire's 3 highest peaks namely Peny-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The ascent is around 5,000 feet. I did the walk with 2 friends who were both very close to Sophie.

Despite the adverse weather conditions and very boggy ground underfoot we completed the walk in 11 hours and 58 minutes as logged by the GPS software on an ipad we took with us. Our target was 12 hours so we cut it very fine.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me.
