Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In September I am riding the 100 miles from Bath to Ludlow stage of this years ride across Britain big bike ride to help the Vodafone foundation raise funds for it's Moyo Lesotho  project. This is where the Vodafone foundation is using mobile technology to change lives, by getting a generation of young people living with HIV and other illnesses onto treatment. With the use of mobile technology, more children will receive life-saving treatment far faster. There are 41,000 HIV positive children in Lesotho but only 5,000 of them currently receive treatment.  The foundation are looking to get all 36,000 children the life-saving treatment they need.  Very few children will survive beyond their fifth birthday if they do not receive this treatment and many of these children live in rural areas.
But it is not just about children with HIV it  is about using the same mobile technology will also be used to provide safe deliveries for mothers, preventing maternal death and the transmission of HIV from mothers to babies.
Every pound I raise will be put to work, changing lives and it will reach more people far faster because of mobile technology.
