WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

WaterAid do incredible work in some of the world's most disadvantaged communities to provide sustainable water infrastructure and hygiene education.  This allows people to spend less time gathering water and more time in school, work and play - all of which are instrumental in ensuring effective economic development.  Imagine life without on-demand running water and you'll quickly see why their goal is for "Everyone, Everywhere" to have hassle-free access to clean water by 2030.

Right now 650 million people are living without safe water.  Two and half billion people don't have regular toilet access or sanitary sewerage facilities.  Children miss school to get water.  Adults can't work to provide more for their families because they need to spend the time getting water.  Entire populations are trapped in poverty for want of a tap and toilet.

Our trek will raise money to support projects in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Ghana and Nigeria.  The group's aim is to provide clean water for 26,000 people in these countries through this fundraising venture.

I'm lucky to have been selected to take part in this amazing expedition to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.  The trek will be remote and physically challenging as we traverse 100km (62miles) of Greenland wilderness over five days carrying everything we need on our backs.  The trip itself is entirely self-funded - every penny you sponsor me will go directly to WaterAid!
