Story

Me again!
Thank you
all for sponsoring me.  I had a great run (if you can call running 26.2 miles great!).  Finished in 2:56:42, just 12 seconds slower than my best for London!  I was the 32nd fastest old git over 50!  I was not expecting too much as I had been fighting a cold all week (thought I'd better start with the excuses before the race) and took it easy for the first 1/2, doing 1hour 29 minutes, fully expecting to lose my legs at mile 18, but strangely when the heavens opened I put my foot down and managed to do the second 1/2 in 1hour and 27 minutes!  Best bits of the day?  Running with Bob Hope (Emmerdale) for about 5 minutes (in the hope that I'd get on telly) and then realising that he was running too slow for me!  Passing James Cracknell with about 5 miles to go, and getting huge cheers from the crowd for managing to run so fast and pass so many people in the last few miles.
Now all I've got to do is the same again but faster in Edinburgh at the end of May!  Julie is so lucky getting all these holidays!

Many thanks for your support,  I've managed to raise just under £250, so I'm quite pleased.  The bad news is as I qualified for a Good For Age place again you'll get another begging email next year - that should give you enough time to change your email address!
