3 peaks challenge · 21 June 2006

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.  Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Railway Children will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Between 21st and 23rd September 2006 myself and seven colleagues shall be competing in the Three Peaks Challenge by Rail – which involves climbing all the way (to the top) of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon mountains, travelling between the mountains on a special train.   The charity it’s all in aid of is The Railway Children which helps runaway and abandoned children who live in and around the world's railway stations. Working through partner organisations, the charity offers shelter, healthcare, education, training, protection and, above all, friendship.  I’m asking if you’d please consider doing the charity a kindness and sponsoring me in this challenge.  To find out more, why not check out their website; the link is www.railwaychildren.org.uk (The Railway Children, Scope House, Weston Road, Crewe, Cheshire CW1 6DD)

This is a team event, and I shall be one of eight people entering a team representing Network Rail Wales and Marches (Cardiff) area.

All the costs of this exercise have been met by rail industry sponsors, so every penny raised will go to the railway children charity.  I look forward to any replies, pledging donations however small – I’d be very grateful to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.  Martin Duff
