Story
On 26th October, I'm racing 150 miles across the Sahara Desert. The race starts 7 hours from Cairo and ends by the Giza Pyramids. We race for between 20 and 58 miles each day carrying all our gear and food for the week in temperatures up to 50C. I'm racing with my buddies, Stuart and Miles, from our 350-mile race to the Mag North Pole last year. Team Polar Bears are now visiting the Sahara!
I have recently got involved in a charity that truly inspires me.
21st Century Legacy (21CL) was set up by David Hemery, Vice President of the British Olympic Association and Olympic gold medallist from 1968. The charity was formed to deliver a child-centred educational programme in schools to inspire young people to ‘be the best they can be’ in whatever field they choose.
A charity committed to inspiring our children to live their dreams on the run up to London 2012. I love it and hope you do too. I'll be involved speaking at some of their school projects next year.
Please will you sponsor me to raise money for 21CL.
By the way, you can follow us during the race 26-31 Oct at www.4deserts.com/sahararace. I'll also be writing a blog every day - see www.4deserts.com/blogs, then click on AllBlogs Sahara Race on the right.
