The King's Foundation - The Italian Job · 5 June 2009 ·

We’ve a vision of a world where children love being active, and we exist to get children active, having fun and learning together. To do this we run activity camps for children, create activity jobs for young people and provide people, programmes, training and resources to individuals and organisations that work directly with children. Our Supporting Families programme aims to make a difference to the lives of children from a range of difficult or disadvantaged family circumstances, including financial hardship, terminal illness, bereavement and other challenging family situations. By offering subsidised places on our camps, we seek to improve the well-being of the child and their family. It’s an opportunity for them to experience a week of fun and structured activity. It also offers the family a respite opportunity and financial assistance with a fun and engaging activity during the school holidays.

Story

"The Italian Job" is a 900 mile bike ride from Nice in France to Naples in Southern Italy over 9 days in June.  I'm cycling the whole way to raise £250 towards an overall target of £10,000 to fund a network of sports outreach volunteers who will deliver sports, activities and essential life-skills in some of the neediest communities in the UK and overseas.

This should be a challenging but, hopefully, fun ride with fifteen other riders taking part. Many thanks for your support.
