My story

Hi Siddy here, moan, grumble, moan, grumble.

Some clowns at my local cricket club, Blunham in Bedfordshire, have decided they are going to try and break the Guinness World record for the longest continuous game of cricket, to try and raise much needed funds to improve our pavilion, which is rubbish.

The current record is set at 35 hours but there are unratified attempts of 50 and 55 hours set by our Antipodean cousins. As a result our bunch of jokers are going to try for 59 hours.  I will have to play whatever the weather and sleep deprivation throw at me, and of course will have to miss out on any potential "date matches" on facebook.  I will also be looking to break my own Blunham CC record for professional moaning, which currently stands at 8 hours, and was set at Langley Manor cricket ground, in Hampshire, in 2004.

Please can you sponsor me, our club is progressing forward with some of the youth players representing Bedfordshire (although they will never be as legendary as me) but our dated facilities urgently need upgrading.  I don't know how my dodgy knees, back, legs, shoulder and hernia are going to stand up to the rigours of cricket for 59 hours, but if it helps in getting me and Tricks our own Waldorf & Stadler stand for when we retire, I'm up for it.

Cousin Steve, if you're reading this, don't sponsor that joker Wildon send it my way instead, I need all the help I can get.

Please visit our webpage for more info: www.blunhamcc.20m.com/record/index.html
