South Downs Way Challenge - UPDATE
I am delighted to announce that the South Downs Way Challenge was a resounding success over the early may bank holiday weekend – we were blessed with grand weather, fine humour and there were no major unplanned dismounts! A big THANK YOU to Clwyd & Dom for cycling with me for 100 miles plus, and to Steve, Ralph & Sue for joining us along the Way – and Nicky too, for all her support. I have posted some info of our ride, with a few choice pictures (as photographic proof!), on a blog:– http://sdwchallenge.blogspot.com Best news of all – we have raised over £2,300 for Rwanda Aid (www.rwanda-aid.org). Now that’s a lot of piglets, rabbits, sewing machines, bikes and the like.

Your generous donations are really SO appreciated, as they will really make a difference to the people living in the south-west of Rwanda.
Many thanks indeed!
MartynPS - My apologies for the tardy update – haven’t wanted to sit down for a while..!
PPS – This page will stay open until the end of May, should anyone wish to add a “rabbit or 2”
South Downs Way Challenge – May 2009 We have just returned from the most enlightening and rewarding month in a remote region of rwanda (checkout our blog – www.curlybjinrwanda.blogspot.com for full details) working with an inspiring charity rwanda aid (see their website - www.rwanda-aid.org), and we want to make a difference – now! so i’m cycling the south downs way, from winchester to eastbourne, over the early may bank holiday weekend – hopefully taking just 2.5 days to cover the 100 miles. please help make this A doublE success for me by sponsoring, as a few british pounds goes a long way in east africa:- e.g. pushbike – give a lad a chance to set up a “taxi” business £80 Sewing machine – provides a new business for a young girl £80 Farm HOLDING – 1 weeks TRAINING PLUS follow-up for 3 yrs £100 3 rabbits & hutch – a truly self-generating business £100 pig & pen – not a pub but truly self-sufficiency £150 WEE pigLET – a starter towards LIVESTOCK MANAGMENT £30 As you know from mr tesco “every little helps”, so please give me a financial boost, however small, which in turn will build up to benefit some of the poorest but happiest people i have ever had the good fortune to meet. thanks a million, or hopefully a thousand!! martyn
