26 April 2009 - a gloriously sunny day for watching the London Marathon...a little too warm to be running it...! Ah well, I'm not complaining (much), I managed to finish the 26.2 miles in a time of 5:05:02 - somewhat slower than hoped...but then there's always next year to beat it - and at least I now have a personal target?!!?

For  those just logging on for the first time, even though I've hit my target of £1,500, please don't let that stop you from donating - here's a little reminder as to why I'm doing this: 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of my Mum dying of ovarian cancer. It was a shock and is not something that you can ever prepare for. As a family, we were fortunate in that we had a lot of people who were able to support us, but there were a host of other people who were working behind the scenes on many different aspects of care and support for Mum.

When Mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I knew very little about the disease. Ovacome is a charity that seeks to provide people with clear, reliable information, support and advice about the disease. Please help me in supporting this charity that provides much needed support and guidance to those who are in a similar position to our family 10 years ago.
