Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

This October I trekked the Inca Trail in Peru with my good mate John Meach along with 16 other volunteers to raise funds for the Meningitis Trust. It was tough going and took 5 days of climbing through rainforest and jungle to finally reach the lost city of Machu Picchu. Despite the ache's, pains and insect bites It was an amazing experience and something I will never forget.

Hello All

The 12th October 2008 was the 8th anniversary of me contracting Meningitis. I was extremely lucky I didn’t loose any limbs I wasn’t left with severe or disabling after-effects and most of all I am still alive. Other people are not that lucky  A lot has happened since then but I haven’t done nearly enough to say thank you to the Meningitis Trust for all the help and assistance they do to help people hit by the horrible disease

One week after my 9th anniversary I will be supporting the Meningitis Trust by taking part in the Peru Trek - Inca Trail Challenge. I want to raise as much money as possible

Meningitis is still with us. As many as 500,000 people living in the today have had either viral or bacterial meningitis at some time in their lives. And up to 10 million adults in the - one adult in every four - knows of someone who has had the disease (You all know me!!!).

The Meningitis Trust helps and supports everyone struggling to cope with the after effects and impact of meningitis or associated septicaemia. Together with your help I hope to reach my goal of over £3000

I would like to say a massive thank you to all of you that have sponsored via my Justgiving site.

I am now on the final leg of my fundraising for the Meningitis Trust, and passing my details on to you friends and relations would be amazing and would help to push me passed the £3000 goal..

Last weekend the majority of participants took part in a training weekend in the Brecon Beacon.

I met some amazing and inspirational people raising money for this cause that is so close to my heart.

Taking part in the Meningitis Trust Peru Trek - Inca Trail Challenge on 10/17/2009 is something I really need to do to raise money for Meningitis Trust and give back something to the people that helped Me, Sarah and Oliver through that horrible time. Freya was only a distant twinkle then :-) I really appreciate your support.

Here is a few examples of what you donations have, and could help to fund:-

£15 can fund the Meningitis Trust freephone nurse-led help line for a hour.

£25 pays for 1000 symptom cards that can save a life by early identification of Meningitis.

£50 pays for a specialist physiotherapist to help children.

£300 pays for specialist leg splints.

Please help this fantastic charity to continue helping people like me and other familys by donating as much as you can afford.

It's easy to donate online with a credit or debit card - just go to my JustGiving page:

JustGiving sends your donation straight to Meningitis Trust and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting Meningitis Trust.

Thank you.
