ME Research UK exists solely to fund high quality biomedical studies into the causes and treatment of ME/CFS. This illness affects over 400,000 people in the UK but is neither well understood nor, in many cases, properly recognised. We fund highly regarded, peer-reviewed research worldwide.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. This fearless mother-daughter duo have decided to undertake the rather daunting task of attempting to run a half-marathon. We hope to run the full 13.1miles, spurred on by each other and our ambition to raise money for ME Research UK. It's not going to be easy, and will probably be quite painful!, but you can help from the comfort of your chair through the painless action of donating money.  Every penny you donate will help us round that course.

The reason we have chosen ME Research UK will be obvious to those who know our family. Sarah (sister/daughter) has had chronic ME for 19 years and during that period little money has been invested into biomedical research into the illness. ME Research UK are trying to remedy this situation but desperately need funds. People often ask us what is being done to understand and treat ME, well now is your chance to help answer the question by donating. The potential for a breakthrough in research into ME is there and could make a life-changing contribution to the lives of sufferers like Sarah; however, the funds are not. We want to change that.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ME Research UK (ME Research Group For Education And Support, MERGE) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
