Update:
I forever admire my patients’ abilities to rise to the challenges faced on a daily basis; be it the acceptance of amputation or returning to everyday activities such as walking outdoors, returning to work, even running…I have set myself a challenge on their behalf. Unlike some amputees – I’m not a runner – the most I’ve ever run in the past has been to ‘catch that bus’ or to hit a tennis ball. But for the first time in my life I’m running (my daughter says I have a shuffling style!) in preparation for the British 10K London Run on 12 July 2009 with the aim of raising as much money as I can for the Limbless Association.
The Limbless Association (LA) is a charity based at Roehampton, London that provides excellent support for amputees through a range of activities.
Please show your support and sponsor me as generously as you can toward this excellent cause. Whatever the amount, pennies, pounds, it is all appreciated. You can donate to my fundraising page from anywhere in the world but donations need to be made in pounds sterling.
It is really easy to sponsor online using this site. Also, if you tick the box for gift aid, it means that the Limbless Association can claim back 28p in tax from every pound you donate.
Thank you so much for your support,
Mary Jane
A message from LA:
Please consider making a donation towards Mary Jane's run, any amount would be wonderful and very much appreciated. Training for and participating in a marathon is very hard work and we are very lucky to have Mary Jane running for us!
