THE GLEBE ACADEMY THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE 2014

Yes we are once again dusting off the boots and packing the Compeeds  for yet another Glebe Challenge, again fundraising for The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research

In 2012, First it was The Staffordshire Way, then 2013, Everton To Fenton.

This year its bigger and harder than ever - The 3 Matt's Do The Three Peaks 2014!

On the weekend of Saturday 12th July & Sunday 13th July 2014, we (Matt Hope, Matt Armstrong and Matt Westwood aka Maverick, Goose and Viper!) are attempting to complete the Glebe Academy 2014 Challenge by walking up the 3 highest peaks in the UK all within 24 hours.

Starting with the 4409 foot high stroll up & down Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK, then driving onto the highest peak in England, 3163 foot Scafell Pike for an amble in The Lake District followed by a stagger up 3560 feet Snowden in Wales, we aim to raise as much money as possible for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

From top to bottom that is a combined height of 22264 feet or a climb of 6786 metres.

This is our biggest challenge yet, but we know that we can complete the challenge and consume a vast amount of beer and curry at the end!

In November 2011, our inspirational friend, colleague and leader Sam Hurst of Glebe Primary School, Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire passed away because of this horrible and devastating illness. Sam is deeply missed by all who knew her and we aim to raise as much as possible to help in a small way to assist in the research so that one day, a cure can be found to stop more suffering and pain that is caused by Leukaemia.

We will post updates and photos of the build up and the walks as we go.

Thanks for all your support and that from all the family, friends and the pupils, staff and parents of Glebe Academy, Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire

Thank You from The 3 Matt's of Glebe Academy.
