DUQC 24 Hour Basketball Match · 29 May 2016

Established in 1981, the Newman Holiday Trust began by running a one week summer holiday for children with special needs. The Trust now provides holidays for about 130 children with special needs aged four to sixteen each year, in various locations around the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supportive environment and use a care ration of one helper to one child at all times. The Trust is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 29th May I will be participating in the 1st annual DUQC 24 Hour Basketball Match - that’s a whole 1440 minutes of non-stop basketball action. My team is playing for the Newman Holiday Trust, a very worthy cause that provides holidays for disabled children.

It promises to be a great event and I can’t wait get on the court and push myself. We want to raise as much money as we can, so any donations big or small will be much appreciated.

Thank you :)
