Story

Here we go again - another attempt at the London Marathon in April! And it doesn't just stop there... to give my charity, The Mary Wallace Foundation, as much exposure as possible this year, I'll be wearing the charity's name in the following races and tours and pushing as hard as I can against clock and terrain:

- Cambridge Duatholon (19 April) (7km run/40km bike/7km run) - my first Duathlon and a nice warm up for a week later!

- FLORA LONDON MARATHON (26 April) - in through the ballot this year and another chance to take it on - I'm relishing it, particularly after last year!

- Mills & Reeve Challenge 2009 (16 May) - 70 mile cycle time trial through the Peak District with guys from work.

- "Tour of Wales" (24-28 June) - a lap of Wales on the bike taking in the crunching climbs of Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons unsupported but accompanied by Messrs Casey, Todd, Bennett, Salmond and Hillier on their machines.

- Cambridge Olympic Triathlon (16 August) - my first Olympic and Messrs Summers and Thom will be there to banter with.

- COAST TO COAST PYRENEES STYLE  - 5 days in the second week of September with Mr Roberts Snr cycling from the Atlantic to Med coast over the Pyrenees taking in over 10,000 metres of vertical climbing - that's the same as cycling up Everest one and quarter times and coming back down the other side!

The whole point of the schedule is to promote Mary Wallace as much as possible, and have the charity's name out in the sporting and public arena locally, nationally and internationally.

Mary Wallace is a small yet vitally important cancer support charity operating out of Cambridge. If you look to the left of this text you'll see what Mary Wallace is all about. Having asked for advice and help from the charity in the past year, I can vouch for just how good they are.

The struggle against cancer, the physical and psychological effects it has on its sufferers and the damaging impact that has on patients' family and friends is relentless, which makes the support, care and compassion from charities like Mary Wallace critical to the local cancer community.

Please continue to get behind me and help me support this wonderful charity this year. Some of you have been supporters since my fundraising started for cancer charities in 2006 and for that I am eternally grateful. My appetite for putting my body through the mill to raise funds hasn't quelled and I hope you still feel like getting the credit card out. Thank you all so much for your support in what are not the easiest of times.
