Hi there - thanks for visiting my page!
On Sunday 25th April 2010 I am going to (try) to run 26.2 miles in the London Marathon.
I don't really like running. It hurts and makes me feel a bit ill...but I really want to do it and being quite stubborn am damn well going to give it a shot.
Reason why?
Last year my sister, Eleanor, was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia and after 12months of treatment is thankfully well on the mend. She is currently in the two year "maintenance" phase and is doing great.
But through the dark time last year the feeling of helplessness was pretty bad so now I've resolved to turn this big negative in to something positive...and raise money to help others affected by the disease.
Leukaemia Care is not just about helping patients with a blood disease but also giving vtial help/support to the families of patients. Who supports the supporters? Having been one of the supporters myself I know first hand how important this is.
Anything you could give would be amazing. So no excuses...spare what you can and lets do this!
Cheers
Matt
PS - If you're feeling really generous then my other half is also running the marathon for the same charity so please sponsor him too: www.justgiving.com/hugh-sutherland
