We help young people excluded from schools to be included in society

Story

For those of you who I haven't already bored to death with my charity adventures from the last couple of years, I'm always up for a challenge when there's a good cause involved. I've thrown myself out of a plane for a soldiers' charity, I've worn a white boiler suit to model a set of golf clubs worth £100k for Cancer Research UK, and I even let some old geezer beat me on Countdown...doing my bit for Help The Aged!

This next project is completely different though, and I need your support. It involves me heading way out of my comfort zone, enduring a whole week without my iPhone and spending seven nights couped up in a tent with Stan!

Now I'm at the grand old age of 23 and my blissful childhood seems a long time ago, it's time to realise that I - and probably most of you - took things for granted when we were young and free. With that in mind, I'm taking part in a fantastic project which is going to benefit less fortunate children, both here in the UK and in a poverty-stricken region of Brazil.

On June 11th this year, I'll be heading out to the Kalungas region of Brazil to help restore and extend a school where 130 students are taught, giving more young people the chance to receive an education. I'll also be taking a football with me to encourage those kids to forget about Pele, Ronaldinho and Kaka...it's all about Gareth Ainsworth, Matty Bloomfield and Nikki Bull!

The fundraising for this project will also benefit the Dallaglio Foundation, which is in turn funding a Cancer Research UK clinical trial to improve the treatment for children with neuroblastoma. This disease is one of the most common forms of cancer found in toddlers and it can be fatal. There is no government funding into finding a cure or treatment for neuroblastoma, which is why I feel the need to help, and hopefully you can spare a few quid to do your bit too.

I won't turn this into a heartwrenching plea for money but it doesn't take long to search for neuroblastoma on Google and read about some of the children who have had to fight bravely against this disease. Some of them survived and lead healthy lives now, some continue to battle it, and some didn't make it through. I spent six months working with Cancer Research UK not too long ago and the work they do is incredible, so every penny raised from this project will be put to good use and it will make a difference.

Please give what you can to support me - every single donation will be hugely appreciated and you will all be safe in the knowledge that I owe you a favour. I'm a man of my word so you can enjoy holding that over me for as long as it takes!

Thank you.
