Story
Ali, Bruno & Cameron are three great friends from school.
Since moving to London, where climbing out of bed can be a challenge, we have decided to put ourselves well and truly out of our comfort zone and attempt the ascent of one of the most iconic mountains in the world - The Matterhorn at 14,678ft (4,478m). We shall be treading in the footsteps of Cameron's grandfather who climbed this mountain in the 1920's.
In preparation for the Matterhorn ascent, scheduled for late August 2013, our 'light training' will include six months of intense gym work, long distance cycling, two climbing courses in Devon & Wales and completing 'The Three Peak Challenge' - climbing the three hightest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales in under 24 hours.
While we hope to enjoy this adventure and we will take a great deal from the experience, our primary reason for embarking on the challenge is to raise money for a worthy cause.
We have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation, which pioneers research into the prevention and treatment of heart disease. Heart related issues have directly affected our families and close friends so it was the obvious charity for us to select.
