ACT believes that every patient deserves the best possible care available. We provide funding for the extras that are needed to make a difference for patients at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals. On JustGiving a chosen area for funding can be specified in the 'My Story' section.
Hi Friends, Loved Ones, and Anyone Else Who Reads This in Blighty and Across the Seas.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Well, the good news is that Jan's had a reprieve, or in medical terms, remission, from the aggressive clear-cell carcinoma that attacked her ovary and bowel. After three major operations, the latest scan and CA125 blood markers tests show that Jan's will, the surgeons' skill and the chemo care and attention that she's had at Addenbrooke's, Cambs, and your prayers and support have all contributed to her ongoing recovery.
After almost a year of hospital visits and stays, we do not have to return to Addenbrooke's until November, although we will miss the caring, supportive staff. Jan will now be monitored for the next five years.
As Jan's once fair hair slowly grows back - black and white, so she fears looking like a badger! - it's now time to shave off mine! And raise money for ovarian cancer research.
Hence, this appeal. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So for every £10 you donate Addenbrooke's gets almost £12. Friends and loved ones abroad can donate using your credit card; specify the amount you want to give in pounds sterling and you will be billed in your local currency.
When it's all off, the bald images in the flyer on your left will feature my sheared mug.
So please sponsor me now! I have already been able to raise half the amount.
Great news! Hope everything keeps on getting better . Well done to both of you.God bless you both.Donation by Heather Bear
