Thanks for everyones donations and please let others know of my page so they can join in and donate to a good cause! Many thanks matt :)

Its Matt here and I am walking the first 12 miles of the cotswold marathon on 5th February 2012.

I am doing this in aid of the Pied Piper Appeal. This is because the Pied Piper Appeal funds the childrens unit at Gloucester Royal Hospital. This is where I spent alot of time in 2009 when I broke my leg. They helped me get better quickly. I am doing this to give back the genorosity and kindness. please help me to raise money for this good and caring charity.

The marathon is spred across the cotswolds covering robinswood and birdlip. The are three groups, 12 mile, 18mile and 36 mile(for the mad ones). I have lately been taking part in practice walks for the marathon. the latest one has been a 24 mile hike from tuffley to bisley in the cotwolds. thsi is a good achivement for me because i am only doing half of this. for more information on the marathon please visit the website:

http://www.btinternet.com/~r.large/marathon/marathon.htm

The Cotswold Marathon is a winter night hike around Gloucester and over the Cotswold Hills.

There are 3 routes:- Bronze, Silver and Gold. There is a maximum time limit of 7, 9 and 18 hours respectively.

The Marathon is over varying terrain making it necessary for team members to have a good knowledge of mapping and orienteering.

There are checkpoints every few miles around the route where drinks will be provided.

The hike starts at 1700 hours on the Saturday from Murray Hall, Tuffley Lane, Gloucester

please also take time to look at my dads page as he is doing the whole 36 miles (gold) using the link:
