Story

Matthew 25 Mission Charity Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign

Matthew 25 Mission Charity is partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for a public access defibrillator to be installed within the community. This life-saving device will be available to local residents, visitors, and anyone nearby in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest.

Why a Defibrillator for the Community is So Important

Each year in the United Kingdom, over 30,000 people experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital, with survival rates still low at fewer than one in ten.

In these situations, every minute counts. Without immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation and access to a defibrillator, survival chances decrease by around ten percent per minute. Early intervention can make a life-saving difference.

Despite this, public access defibrillators are used in only a small number of cases, highlighting the need to make them more accessible within our communities.

Having a defibrillator available locally could provide vital support in those crucial moments before emergency services arrive.

How a Defibrillator Will Help the Community

Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance service and available for use twenty four hours a day.

It does not replace emergency services but provides immediate, potentially life-saving assistance while help is on the way. The quicker a defibrillator can be used, the greater the chance of survival.
