Event: Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023, on 14 May 2023
The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will take place on Sunday 14 May 2023 and has been inspired by former Leeds Rhinos captain, Kevin Sinfield OBE, and his fundraising challenges in recent years in support of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow.

Story

You may know the person I'm running in honour of: Anthony Shackleton or 'Shack' as we all know him locally.

When I was training for the Great North Run in 2022 I got talking to Shack's wife, Lou. I described a desire to run a marathon at some point and she encouraged my idea from the start - though I was very nervous. Then we heard that the Leeds marathon was to be renamed the Rob Burrows marathon in 2023. As soon as I heard this, I wanted to challenge myself to run this marathon in Shack's honour. It felt like the right marathon and is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for MNDA. Shack was delighted that I asked him and is hoping that we can raise much-needed funds for MNDA.

Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated, thank you. It will inspire me to train hard and run well on the day itself, 14th May 2023.
