British 10k London Run 2008 · 6 July 2008 ·

OCD-UK is a leading national charity and an independent service-user led organisation working with and for children and adults affected by Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  I ran the London 10K on July 6th to raise money for OCD-UK, a relatively new charity that promotes awareness of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, an illness that affects around 2% of the population and which is classified by the World Health Organisation as one of the top 10 disorders in terms of its adverse impact on quality of life.

*Update: My time was 48 minutes and 26 seconds*

So much has been achieved already through the charity's conferences, webpages, online forum, newletters and advocacy.  There is so much good news now about OCD, an illness that until recently was often regarded as virtually untreatable.  I know you already give to charities, and that there are so many worthy causes.  I hope though that you will be able to sponsor me -- it will give me so much more determination to complete the race and to assist the intelligent, humane work of this first-class charity.

THANK YOU!

Matthew
