Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Yes I know I'm the umpteenth person to ask you for some dosh but please dig deep and sponsor me online. I will be one of 2,400 athletes from 56 countries taking part in the 2008 IRONMAN held in Zurich, Switzerland on July 13th and I'm trying to raise as much money as possible for Action Heart.
The Ironman consists of swimming 2.4mile (3.8km) in lake Zurich, then jumping on the bike for an undulating 112mile (180km) up heartbreak hill and other challenging climbs, followed by a nice brisk run of 26.2mile (42km). My main aim is just to finish but if I can finish in under 14 hours that will be a bonus.
Action Heart provide cardiac rehabilitation, helping people who have suffered from a heart attack, undergone cardiac surgery or who have a cardiac related condition. Coronary heart disease is the UK's biggest killer and I'm sure we all know someone who has suffered, either a relative or a friend, so please help me help Action Heart.
I am just over halfway through a 24 week program which requires 12-14 hours of training per week. All donations will be great incentive to get me out of bed at 6am for a swim, bike or run.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ACTION HEART will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
All the best.
Matthew
