Hello wonderful people,

It is utterly unbelievable that my enormous bulk will be transporting itself 26 miles on 26th April, but, alas, it is so! For this fact alone you should already be feeling generous, but to push you over the edge into actually getting rid of your money before Gordon does it for you, let me tell you about the fabulous charity I'm running for: the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.

The blurb: "The Fund is dedicated to assisting aspiring young athletes who have shown by their attitude and dedication that they possess the qualities which will ensure the growth and protection of sport."

Basically, this charity is tiny, and run by Jean Pickering, Ron's widow. She is a wonderful and marvellous woman who is a personal inspiration to me, and when she emailed me at the last minute to take the final marathon place for the charity, what did I say? YES WE CAN!

This is great charity, really trying to make a difference, so please give what you can. Think once again: me, 26 miles. Madness.
