Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am going to be running the Brighton half-marathon on 21st February to raise money for my expedition as a volunteer project manager with Raleigh in June-Sept this year!
Raleigh International is a registered charity that works with young people from all backgrounds and nationalities, including those disadvantaged or "at risk", to enable them to make a positive contribution and achieve personal and social development.
This is achieved by engaging young people in worthwhile community, environment and adventure projects which meet the needs of people living in developing countries.
I have a target to raise a minimum of £1950 - and the money I raise with your help will pay for all sorts of things like:
• Contributing towards the costs of the projects – materials, specialist equipment, and insurance
• Our work with disadvantaged young people in the UK
• Our programme for volunteers from the host country
• Specialist kit and equipment
• Costs of recruiting specialist volunteer managers, including medics, mountain leaders & builders
• Food and accommodation costs...note the accommodation is very basic, you won't be funding a 5-star hotel for me and the venturers!
Any money I raise in excess of the target amount will go towards things like assisting the funding of places for the venturers from disadvantaged backgrounds.
