The work that Amnesty does is not important...it is vital. It is vital because we are unaware of how fragile the rights we enjoy really are and how easily they can be taken away from us. It is vital because if nobody stands up when the fundamental rights of others are threatened then there will be nobody to stand up for us if we are ever in the same position. It is vital because it is the product of human decency.
