2010 British 10K London run · 11 July 2010 ·

London Wildcare is the parent charity name for Riverside Animal Centre, based in Beddington Park, Wallington, South London. We help both wildlife and pet animals in need of urgent care. We receive no grant funding whatever, so rely entirely upon public donations to continue our lifesaving work.

Story

I'm a big animal lover, and while there are plenty of pet charities out there, there aren't many that specialise in rescuing and rehabilitating injured wildlife, but London Wildcare Trust do.

They are a small, local charity close to me and I've been able to take in injured birds to them to be treated where other larger, more well known rescue organisations would probably have put them down. The charity helps all sorts of wildlife, including foxes, deer, ducks, hedgehogs and squirrels – even pigeons!

You can find out more about the work they do here http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html

This 10k run is a warm up really, to a half marathon i'm doing in October, but I wanted to raise a few pennies for a good cause along the way. If you could sponsor me, no matter how little, it would really make a difference.

Thank you!
