Saturday Update:

We did it! Many thanks to all of you who sponsored me - we raised just over £2000. I am now in serious pain but well worth it :D

Here are the stats
- 5km backwards in black tie in 59min
- Only fell over twice, both as a result of hitting cones
- Lapped twice by a blind man, and four times by a man with no legs
- Asked to get off the course on 3 separte occasions by 3 officials who thought I was a joker and not in the competition

Photos to come!

Thanks again,
Maximilian

Friday Update:
One day to go, and desperate times call for desperate measures!
If we reach £1500 I will run the first 1k backwards, still in my black tie. And for every additional £100 I will run another kilometre backwards.

Thursday Update:
We've now reached £1000 due to your generosity - many thanks to all! I will now be running in black tie!

This week a girl working for our BCG client dropped out from the London Triathlon due to illness. Out of the dozens of able athletes in the office, only one volunteered to valiantly take her place. And then he backed out.
So I am now participating in the London Triathlon on 9th August 2008.

I have less than 8 days training, 4 of which I was hoping to spend on holiday. Given that the last time I ran for more than a bus was a compulsory cross country run aged 14, this will be a painful experience.
But you can turn pain into pleasure with a small (or very large) donation to Macmillian Cancer Support - not only are you helping sufferers of Cancer, but I really will be eternally grateful and will love you for ever and ever*.

For every £100 donated, my client will match with a further £100 (up to a reasonable limit) - so as well as having double the impact on cancer, you can further deteriorate a major European bank's balance sheet .

And if that wasn't enough, if  raise over £1000 I will do the run in black tie - the jacket, the trousers, even the tie, the whole shebang! Photos will of course be published.

Click on "SPONSOR ME NOW" above and you can donate immediately.

Many thanks for all your support,
Maximilian

*This does not necessarily apply to ex-girlfriends, but please donate anyway and we will work something out I promise.
