So please dig deep and donate now. We recently rehomed Jake a staffy cross from EAR(Eden animal rescue). He is a wonderful dog makes friends with everyone he meets no matter how many legs you have. He give us so much love and affection. We cant work because of disablities but this means we have plenty of time to spent with him .Our hobby is attending classic commercial vehicle roadruns and shows all over the UK with our ERF tractor unit .So Jake will be travelling with us! becase if the dog cant go we dont go! We would like to raise funds for EAR to help them with the good work they do . HOW FAR WILL JAKE TRAVEL , HOW MANY PLACES WILL HE GO TO ? We had the ERF out for a run just to check all is well and ready for our busy season ahead a trip of 200miles approximately. Jake is now a cab mut he laid on the bunk as if he had been doing it all his life ! SO LETS GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD .
Sunday 26th April saw us on the road ,The Cheshire run ! we arrive at POPLAR 2000 services LYMM ( A50)at around 8.30 having left silloth about 4 am .It was a good turnout over 100, not the best of weather but jake still managed to make a few new friends . We headed off following our route instructions the sun was shining again , people where out to watch us pass by waving ,clicking cameras . We stop after about 46miles at the MIDWAY (A49)for arest stop. Jake had a walk about enjoying all the attention he was getting, something to eat, then off agian that was the easy part over now some harder roads head. After another 45miles of driving around the highways and by-ways of Cheshire and North Shropshire we turn off the A57 we turned into Moat lane "SHOWGROUND" the run was over .After a chat to friends both old and new we headed home having had a great day .Our total distant covered was 375 miles !
The 30th april saw us on our way north for the 2nd HIGHLAND roadrun,we stopped at the commando memorial,SPEAN BRIGDE for to moment or to on the way to INVERNESS.Saturday 1st may 30 classic commercial vehicles met at Woody'slorry park and headed north, first stop was Dalmore distillery for a cuppa, a quick walk and a dram then we hit the road again .Jake's flatout on the bunk in the ERF there say its a dogs life ! On northward to LOCHINVER for a tea break and walk around the harbour then it was on to ULLAPOOL for the night ,time to socialise and catch up with friends ! Have a walk about Jake isn't the only dog on the run there's a yorkshire terrier from Co Tyrone northern ireland and the 7 basset hounds from just down the road in west cumbria.Sunday we hit the road heading back to INVERNESS.All our goodbyes said we head for home stopping at PETERHEAD on the way, back home with another 950 miles travelled.
We wre book in for the SHROPSHIRE TRUNDLE on 16th may so we headed south on 15th staying the night at the organisers ready for our early start on sunday morning at the MIDWAY(A49) after an enjoyable drive around the shropshire contryside it was lunch time wecalled into the Lazy trout cafe .Something to eat Jake got more attention than the vehicles I think. Back on the road we made our way at a leisurely pace returning to the MIDWAY. Time to go home thats 490 miles done this weekend a TOTAL 1,815 MILES !
Friday 28th may saw us heading south down to NEWARK SHOWGROUND for the AEC Society :The Great North Road Rally a 2 day show and roadrun of approx 30miles .Jake was a star again making friends with both 2 and 4 legs he made friend with a 3 legged golden lab.Monday we head to the midway cafe A49 for a over night stop.Then up to Charnockl Richard and a bring your vehicle night at the Bowling green on Tuesday 1st again Jake was great hit with everyone a stop on Shap for the night then home a trip of 620 miles making the TOTAL 2,435 MILES !
Early on sunday 6th June saw us on our way over A66 to stockton for the start of the 28thTYNE-TEES run .We set of from the Showcase cinema car park, Stockton to Gypsies Green Stadium, South sheilds . Another day that Jake was a star ,returning back to silloth in plenty of time for bed covering 245 miles making a total of 2680 MILES
