Harrow's Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Dal Babu is embarking on a bike ride from London to Paris with his 16 year old daughter, Shanti on Wednesday 18 August 2010. 

He has kindly asked for people to sponsor his ride to benefit the Mayor of Harrow's charity which is Ovarian Cancer Action.

His journey will take 3 days, involve some serious pedalling and hopefully a lot of Croissants when he arrives.

The Mayor of Harrow, Councillor Asad Omar wished Dal Babu well and said:

"I would like to thank our Borough Commander Dal Babu for his very kind gesture and am touched he has chosen to do this ride for my chosen charity. The aim is to increase awareness of Ovarian Cancer which is known as a silent killer but can be treated if detected early enough."

"Ovarian Cancer Action are doing some wonderful work in raising awareness about the symptoms of the disease and I urge everyone to support the charity and spread the word to their friends, mothers, sisters, wives and daughters - any women they know, and this information and the knowledge of the symptoms will hopefully save some lives."
