Story

MESSAGE FROM THE WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR OF SOUTHWARK, COUNCILLOR ELIZA MANN

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Every year the Mayor of Southwark has the opportunity to support a charity of their choice.  For my mayoral year I have chosen to support Diabetes Uk - to raise awareness of diabetes, promote the importance of early diagnosis and encourage healthy living in Southwark.  I chose this charity as I spent 25 years working in the NHS and also because I myself suffer from type 2 diabetes.  Diabetes is not only increasing but failure to obtain early diagnosis can be life threatening.

Funds raised during my mayoral year will be used to support visits to Southwark by a mobile screening unit to aid early detection of diabetes.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to support me.  Diabetes UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support
