Moorhouse Bike-Run - City Gateway · 24 April 2009

City Gateway serves people in communities most impacted by social and economic inequality. We seek to transform those communities by improving individuals’ life chances. We deliver programmes that enable positive, sustained outcomes in empowerment, education and employment.

Story

The Moorhouse Bike-Run event is back for 2009!!!

This year the challenge is greater than ever and is split into two elements:

Two teams of ten will be running and cycling in relay pairs (bike-running) from Tenby in South Wales to London, over a non-stop period of 48 hours. This is equivalent to each person running over 40 miles and cycling over 40 miles, whilst living, eating and sleeping in a rather fragrant mini-bus for 48 hours! Meanwhile, two other teams will be working on separate charity initiatives for City Gateway, a charity dedicated to bringing hope to the local communities of Tower Hamlets. Both events will take place over the weekend of the 13th and 14th June.

So why are Moorhouse (and friends) at it again? Well, it's to raise £15,000 for two fantastic charities.  Team A are raising money for Cancer Research - http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/ and Team B for City Gateway (this page) - http://www.citygateway.org.uk/.

Thank you for your support, your donation means a lot to us and, more importantly, to our two selected charities.

Warm regards,
